an under sea adventure

So i missed a few posts sorry :( (Sunday we went to Laguna Beach to meet up with some friends from Alaska, well needless to say us former Alaskans none California blooded people are not use to that sun...Nathan and I suffered some pretty nasty sun burns, Rhyan also got a few little sun burns but thankfully hers were not hot or tender like Nathan's and mine were. Nathan however got hit the worst... He has blisters all over one of his feet and tomorrow we will be renting a wheel chair.

So Monday came with an early morning wake up... It was Princess Make Over Day. 8:20am landed us at The Bippity Boppity Botique where a team of Fair God Mothers in training transformed Rhyan into a beautiful princess. she also got to pick her attire and hair style and make up colors. She had a great time. The salon was super cute and Tip 4(i think we are on 4) if you do the princess or Prince make over don't go cheap go for the full meal deal and spring for the biggest package that way you get professional photo prints that are absolutely adorable. after the make over was done we walked through the park to California Adventures to have lunch at Ariels Groto. Tip number 5 if you have a little princess absolutely spend the 106+ Dollars to have lunch there.. we walked in and down a grand stair case and at the bottom was Ariel (with her human legs) ready for pictures. She signs autograph books and poses for pictures, we were then seated and appetizers were brought out, a salad with a mango citrus dressing, veggies and mozzarella and Jello with fruit and cheese. a loaf of Disney made sour dough bread came out in the shape of a star fish. our order was take (Rhyan had meatballs with spaghetti, I had herb crusted chicken and Nate had the Tri Tip) and drinks were brought out. A gentlemen with a lovely outfit on introduced the princesses that were in attendance: first was Snow White, Second was Sleeping Beauty, Third was Cinderella and finally was Belle. Each princess went table to table, signed autograph books, spoke to the child at the table and posed for pictures, Rhyan was in heaven as each princess made sure to mention her lovely get up. This was so very worth the money just to see the smile on Rhyan's Face. after dinner (which i will say was pretty good) dessert came out. It was a tray of finger sized goodies, cheese cake bites, brownie bites, chocolate Chip cook Bar and a Multan chocolate cake... everything was amazing. Rhyan was in heaven. after that we headed home to the hotel with the plans of changing out of the princess gear and heading back to DisneyLand however we were all pooped, burnt and ready for a rest. So we went swimming instead....it was a great day.

Parades are a plus

Well our second half of our first day was just as amazing as our first. More rides more shopping more everything...
We got to see the new Soundsation parade....it was AWESOME... the best by far... it had to be 80 degrees out too it was simple beautiful...the floats were spectacular and the costumes were awesome....
Have i already mentioned a tip of going to city hall and getting a button for your kid weather it's a birthday or 1st visit or simply celebrating the cast members pay more attention to you if you have a button... one of the butterflies from the parade stopped when she say Rhyan's button and came over to her during the parade and wished her a happy birthday it was amazing....
we rode a ton of rides today, our favorite was Splash mountain.... We of course got the picture :) Nathan was in the front then Rhyan and then myself we all three were soaked.....the picture shows one terrified Nathan lol....
We are simply having a fantastic time... Rhyan met Mary Poppins and told her she was "simply lovely" Bert tried to hold Rhyan's hand and Rhyan wanted nothing to do with him... poor bert :(
My feet are really in pain today... but it's totally worth it we are having such a fantastic time...
Tomorrow is our beach day....so i wont have anything to report for the park. Laguna Beach here we come

Man do my feet hurt hahahahahaha

Well We are back here at the hotel for lunch(Shuttle pass was a great idea to save money and avoid eating lunch at the park) I fully stand by my tip about springing for the tour....it was AAAWWWWEEEESSSSOOOOMMMMMEEEEE, Rhyan and of course us had a great time. The Tour guide (her name was Alex) was very wonderful and great with Rhyan. They were on a treasure hunt. Our treasure hunt first took us on the train ride to Pirates of the Carrabien (Rhyan did not dig that ride one bit....it was way to dark for her and we had to force her on the ride) once out of there we headed to Tarzan's tree house, next on to Buzz Lightyears Astro Blaster once our mission  there was complete we headed to the Carosel, after that was Toon Town where we found our final clue that landed us in Mickey's house for a private visit with the mouse himself.  Being on the tour meant not having to wait in any lines for any of the rides and our private visit allowed us to get pictures (as many as we wanted) and get autographs and our "treasure" a commemerative pin that says "I discovered the magic"....It was a great tour and very well worth it. Rhyan had a blast.

let me back track a little... when we first got to the park Alice and the Mad Hatter where close to the gate so we got Rhyan's first autograph and picture(Rhyan  wasn't to sure about this), we had a little bit of time to kill so we headed to City Hall Where Rhyan got two buttons one says 1st Visit and one says Happy Birthday Rhyan and let me tell you when your child has that button on EVERYONE that works there says hello and happy birthday to her. She is feeling very special today. After City Hall we went to the Mad Hatters Hat shop for some mouse ears...Rhyan got a very sweet pair of mouse years with a princess crown on it nate and I both got Baseball caps and Rhyan got a fancy Autograph pen for her book... After the hat shop we met Pluto and Goofy....We walked down main street and through Sleeping Beauty's castle what a beautiful castle.
another tip....PHOTO PASS.....this is an awesome thing to have... any of the millions of professional photographers in the park will scan your card and take pictures for you...its awesome....
We also checked out the Bippity Boppity Boo Salon where Miss Rhyan will be getting a princess make over on monday at 8:20am :) it looked very cool and neat there she's really excited about that.

Well my family is doing eating lunch so we are going to head back to the park... I will blog about the rest of our day when we get home (might be late though the park stays open until midnight :)

We have arrived

Well after a long wait (no problems at security) and a long shuttle ride we have made it to our hotel... it's absolutely beautiful and very fancy.  I am excited to say that the pool is fantastic too... When we arrived our room and groceries were not ready yet so we decided that lunch was much needed. We walked over to California Pizza Kitchen... OMG i had Pear & Gorgonzola pizza, Nate had a BLT Pizza and Rhyan had a little peperoni pizza... it was so good...
We made our way back to the hotel to get our room finalized and up we went to get changed for the pool...we spent 2 hours in the pool it was great fun. The pool is lovely... we ended our night by ordering some Italian food. It's been a very long day of traveling so we are off to bed.
(by the way i wont be able to post pictures until i get home i forgot the computer cable for my Digital Camera. I will try to take a few and post them to facebook and save them over. Here is a preview of this weeks weather forecast....nice just the temp i love :) we are all exhausted but so excited to be here...
Tip number one....Purchase the ART pass it will save you time and energy and transport you to a number of place from the Disney Land Gate.
Tomorrow will be a busy early day as well. Tomorrow is our first day in the park and we are taking a "discovering the magic tour" which is a kid geared treasure hunt murder mystery type tour. it's a 3 hour tour so it should be loads of fun and i am sure i will have loads to blog.
Ok i'm off to bed now... i can barley see straight.
For those of you whom are reading this (you know who you are) that are caring for our furry kids while we are gone...Thank you thank you thank you so much it means the world to us.

Getting Ready

As many of you know we are taking our first family trip to none other than DISNEYLAND..... YAY.....
We are heading out on June 10th in the wee hours of the AM :)
In the meantime i'm busy packing three people, making sure the furry kids have people to watch them and making sure that all is well and set for our travels.
let me start off by saying i'm a little panicky to go through security as i really dont feel like getting felt up by a complete stranger....I also had a dream that one of the TSA workers took my purple netbook(that in my dream you could no longer purchase in purple) and dunked it in this special solution that detects if you trying to pass it off as an explosive... well in my dream i was so scared of getting arrested or a full body cavity search that i didn't say anything until i was back home from my trip and then i complained about getting a new net book.....I'm so worried that they are going to give us a hard time or try to feel Rhyan up that i might flip out... (somone please anyone put bail money aside or call dog the bounty hunter lol)
Anyways...So we have packed as light as possible and are only taking carry-ons as 1. we dont want anything stolen and 2. we dont want to pay for our baggage.
Once through security i'm sure we will be just fine and well on our way to our fabulous trip that has in store for us mouse ears, princess make overs, princess lunches, a magic tour... oh boy what fun....
I'm going to blog everyday so if you interested to know what we are doing please follow along...
by the way we are leaving on Friday AM and today is Wednesday and we will just start packing tonight hahahahaha....nothing like last minute :)
